My Story

8 YEARS.
ONE OBSESSION.

My name is Ben Svacina. I've been around cars since I was a kid growing up in Omaha. My start with cars began in 2010, and over the last 13 years, I've dedicated myself to testing, perfecting, and mastering the skills needed to properly care for a vehicle's exterior.

I strive not only to help others understand their vehicle's paint but also to challenge myself to improve every single day. You might wonder where this passion comes from. The majority of credit for getting me into cars goes to my father and his beloved 1967 Ford Falcon. He didn't treat it as just a piece of metal to beat on; he showed me how to change the spark plugs, the oil, and even how to wash it. The love he gave me, matched by the love he had for that car, taught me a profound lesson. It wasn't about the money you spend, the horsepower, or the appearance. It was about valuing something you loved for what it is.

That sense of value taught me a lot and is what led me to work with vehicles, beginning as a detailer at a dealership. From there, I moved to a well-known car wash, where I focused on interior detailing, headlight restoration, and learning the proper techniques to install waxes. Moving on, I started at a reputable body shop, starting again as a detailer before advancing on to become their buffer. That's where my passion truly ignited. Learning how to sand out a dirt nib or a paint run brought the most incredibly rewarding feeling to me. For the past eight years, I've continued to grow in that role, challenging myself by scratching older parts heavily and developing new techniques to REVIVE the panels to a brilliant SHINE while PROTECTING them for years to come.

At 28 years old, I feel a deep sense of accomplishment for what I've built over the last four years.

Being certified by two leading ceramic coating companies, I thought they would've never blinked an eye at me.

Becoming I-CAR certified in buffing, sanding, and clear coat thickness measurement.

Sponsored my first car show.

Been blessed to work on incredible vehicles, from a Team Cigarette racing boat and a Mustang GT350 to some crazy restorations on a DSM and a Corvette C4.

These achievements might seem small to some, but they mean the world to me, and there's so much more ahead!

Even though I live and breathe this work, I make sure to balance it with things I enjoy, whether it's gaming, cruising in my car, playing with my dog, or hunting with my dad. Building something you love is truly so dang hard, and some days the weight feels like a million pounds, but reaching this point has been unimaginably rewarding. I'm incredibly grateful for the support of my girlfriend, my family, my friends, and, of course, God.

I understand that there are so many other countless options for protecting your vehicle's exterior, and many of them are excellent. So why choose me? I can't speak for others in my field, but the value I provide in my work to me goes unmatched. I do this solely for the love of it, not to make a fortune. That's why I call myself Ben Buffing.

Even if you don't choose me, a simple prayer for my success would mean just as much as any job!

FAQ

SOME FAQ

Got questions? Here are the most common ones.

What is ceramic coating?
Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer applied to your vehicle's exterior that chemically bonds with the paint. It creates a durable, hydrophobic layer that repels water, dirt, UV rays, and chemicals — keeping your car cleaner longer and protecting the paint for years.
How do you choose the right correction stage?
It depends on the severity of the defects in your paint. Stage 1 handles light swirls and minor scratches on newer vehicles. Stage 2 is for embedded scratches and swirls on vehicles with more wear. Stage 3 is for severe damage, deep scratches, and vehicles needing a showroom-perfect result.
Do you do interiors?
Interior detailing is not currently a core service. I focus exclusively on paint correction, ceramic coating, headlight restoration, and scratch repair to ensure the highest quality on every job. Reach out to discuss your specific needs.
How long does a ceramic coating job take?
It depends on the package and the amount of paint correction needed. A basic single-stage correction with ceramic coating typically takes 6 hours. Higher-tier packages with multi-stage correction can take a full day or more.
Is Ben Buffing a mobile service?
For headlight and hard scratch repairs I can come to you. For ceramic coating or paint correction, the car will need to be dropped off. Available weekdays 5:30–10 PM and weekends 9 AM–11 PM in the Omaha area.
How do I take care of my ceramic coating after?
Every job comes with a full aftercare guide. Key points: avoid washing for 7 days after application, use pH-neutral soaps, avoid automatic car washes with brushes, and use a ceramic-safe detailer spray between washes.
